Project

Prepare the European (EU) footwear sector to embrace the challenge of the transition into a sustainable, human-centric and resilient industry, making use of the latest technologies and addressing the implementation of and Industry 5.0.

Proposes an ICT (Digital) multilevel tailor-made upskilling scheme and correspondent content wise tools, (based on a self-awareness skills scanning), to implement the presuppositions of i5.0, towards a greener and digital transition, making footwear factories a place where creative and talented people can come and work and live a human and personalized experience.

Objectives

The project main goal is to prepare the EU footwear sector with the necessary skills to embrace the challenge of the transition towards a sustainable, human-centric and resilient industry, transcending efficiency and productivity objectives.

The action is aligned with the EU Pact for Skills for the Textile, Clothing, Leather and Footwear sectors (EU TCLF Pact for Skills) to upskill/ reskill workers, allying benefits not only for workers, but also for the companies and society. The project outcomes will contribute to ensure that workers acquire the needed skills to support the green and digital transition in footwear factories across Europe.

The countries initially targeted are Italy, Portugal, Romania and Spain, and stakeholders from other EU countries will also be invited to participate at a lower scale.

Target Group

Shoe 5.0 intends to make an additional step towards the digital transformation of footwear Vocational Education Training (VET) in Europe, and for that purpose, two main audiences will be particularly targeted and involved in the project activities:

Footwear workforce

Which includes current footwear workers and managers in footwear and leather good companies. The main objectives regarding this group are to maintain their interest and increase their motivation to work in the sector, as well as to capacitate them with the relevant latest skills and competencies.

VET teachers, trainers

Coaches and respective stakeholders from other related industries, such as leather goods, footwear components, etc. The education community takes centre stage when it comes to the digital transition of teaching practices. Since VET providers and teachers are designing the study programmes for students, they have the opportunity to incorporate new teaching tools and methods.

Implementation

The work programme roles out in

The project proposes an ICT (Digital) multilevel tailor-made upskilling scheme and correspondent content wise tools, (based on a self-awareness skills scanning) to implement the presuppositions of i5.0, towards a greener and digital transition, making footwear factories a place where creative and talented people can come and work and live a human and personalised experience.

The work programme for the developmen of activities will be divided in five Working Packages (WP) that include project management, the elaboration of curricula and necessary learning tools, training pilot actions in four EU countries, and several events spread during the 36 months’project implementation. The consortium will also ensure the replication and sustainability of outputs after the project lifetime in order to guarantee the regular upskill and reskill of workers and managers towards a smoother implementation of I5.0.

4. Development of AR/VR training contents.

WP4.

1. Pilot Training Implementation in PT, RO and SP.

2. Evaluation of training sessions using the “Kirkpatrick Model” to assess both formal and informal training methods.

WP5.

1. Introduction of the Shoe 5.0 training tool into National Catalogues for Qualification in at least 2 participating countries.

2. Involvement of of different confederations and footwear industry associations from EU countries not part of the project by the organisation of 10 meetings to spread its results and promote the transferability.
